Long Time No Write 2

It's been over a year, and I swear this was last updated like a month or two ago. C'est la vie, I suppose. Things have been crazy

2025

So, a lot happened last year. My youngest son was born, fucking gen-AI is in a major bubble that's invading every aspect of life, the president is actively in mental distress and is dying, we had to put our 5 year old corgi down because of cancer, we had a vacation at a little inn around a seaside down, had multiple bouts of my oldest son having some behavior issues, we adopted another corgi... I can't even remember it all

2026

Got another techo, this one is the smaller size and I think I'm liking it. Keeping up with journaling there has been okay and I think I've found a way to use it regularly

I'm in regular sessions with a therapist and we're looking at exploring HRT, but getting the appointment wiht the endo has been difficult

The handmade hero project follow along held strong for a while but did peter out. I started up an emulator project, started to expriment with RISC-V processors, and built out a StepMania machine in the garage. Pinball is still on the brain but we ended up having to get a new car and that took the money we would have spent on a table. Maybe next year

Wife also wants to get a camper of some kind after she spent a weekend at one with some friends, so that'll also be in the cards at some point. It would be nice

Been keeping up with AEW pretty regularly, still watching about 1/2 of Dynamite and catching most of the PPVs. This year is going to have some good pro wrestling outings. Going to go, again, to a Dynamite broadcast and also a smaller PPV is going to be hosted very locally to me so we're going to go to that

Work's been insane - we've had numerous staffing changes, people let go, entire verticals swapped around and consolidated. It's really exposed a lot of debts and underlying practice issues that's been a real struggle to deal with. I consolidated my home office desk so I'm not getting as distracted and only have my personal PC or my work stuff "on" at once

The last thing to mention at the moment, I think is that I've been really into the Dungeon Crawler Carl books. I was turned off of LitRPGs with He Who Fights With Monsters, but Carl has hit the sweet spot. I haven't flown through audiobooks like this in a long time

Closing (Again)

Who knows when I'll update this again. Maybe soon, maybe it'll be another annual update. Either way, see you next time
